Large antique blown glass demijohn jug (also known as carboys) in light olive green, once used to store wine or oil, now converted to a table lamp. We used an old wood fishing line float as the lamp stopper carved out to fit deep into the neck of the bottle. This adds the needed stability for attaching the light fixture and shade, eliminating the wobble of a corked stopper and helps protect the bottle neck from breakage, and is removable for filling and for easy shipping. The lamp wire is on the outside, so no drilling is required that would potentially damage the jug and of course it's retaining value. Jug measures 9 inches in diameter at widest point (shoulder) and 18 inches tall to top of the neck. The overall height is 28 1/2 inches to top of shade.
