A gently used Ritchie Steel Boat & Commercial Black finish With Black 6" Dial Shock Mounted Binnacle, Globemaster, model 46, serial #A80. This is the earlier model of the Ritchie B-463. Made by E.S. Ritchie & Sons, Inc, Navigational Instruments, Pembroke, Massachusetts as indicated on the front mounted makers label, and is the largest shock-mounted steel boat binnacle compass produced by Ritchie. Features a special anti-vibration mount to protect the hardened steel pivot and sapphire jewel from excessive wear. Comes standard with built-in compensators and quadrantal spheres for compensation and 6" diameter dial. Remains in perfect working order and only minor paint surface blemishes and a marking on the globe where the original light existed. This Ritchie compass was a fairly recent replacement and removed by the tug captain from the WWII era US Army tug "Columbia" out of Norfolk, Virginia and was the compass used in the lower wheel house. We also have from the lower wheel house, the original small brass telegraph and the brass 6 in. Chelsea U.S. Navy Mark I deck clock, #8857 dated 1941 and the brass ship's bell.
