Early to mid 20th century masthead light manufactured by Wilcox Crittenden & Co., Inc., Middletown, Conn. USA. as embossed on the brass oval makers plate. this large heavy galvanized metal lantern survives in good condition considering its decades of maritime use. The glass Fresnel lens was made by P.G. Co. (as marked on the front of the lens) and only has a few small rim chips. The chimney cap is made of brass and so is the top hoisting ring. There are 4 metal brackets, 2 on each side, which supported the lamp attached to the top of the ship�s mast. Nice old darkened pewter colored patina. Measures 21 inches tall to the top of the ring and 12 inches wide including the brackets and weighs 11 pounds. Open at bottom.
This lantern can be electrified for use as an indoor or outdoor fixture and can also be re-purposed into a beautiful nautical table lamp. Give us a call or email us for details!
