An early to mid 20th century carved mahogany plaque of a Shrader US Navy Mark V dive helmet. Measures 10 ˝ inches wide X 16 inches tall and 1 ˝ inches thick. Minor wood loss on the helmet base and a few shrinkage cracks from age. An exceptional one-of-a-kind carving of the finest workmanship! Great old patina and retaining it's original finish. Unfortunately, we do not possess the provenance of this exceptionally carved maritime wall hanging, but I would imagine that this was a trade sign or might have decorated the interior wall of a helmet manufacturer or US Navy building.
