Franklin D. Roosevelt: "F.D.R. The Man of the Hour." Manufactured in 1934, this casting is made of metal with a copper-coated finish. The nautical table lamp depicts Roosevelt in sailor's foul weather gear standing at the helm of a sailboat (which the sailboat depicted below and the slogon "F.D.R. THE MAN OF THE HOUR." Casting measures 7" x 10 1/2" x 3" and 23 inches to the top of the shade.
Our research has found a few examples of this casting, one as a lamp which originally came with a glass globe-covered light and others with an electric clock set into the area of the ships wheel. This fixture came to us without the globe light and we modified it into a traditional style table lamp.
Shown here with our 14 inch off-white linen lamp shade. sold separately (see below).
