Highest quality vintage cast brass engine room or passageway light used on various types of naval and commercial ships throughout the 20th century. This all brass authentic light fixture weighs a little more than three pounds and measures 9 1/2 inches tall and 3 3/4 inches wide at the bezel. Easily mounted onto almost any flat surface using the three mounting feet or can easily be drilled through the bottom of the light fixture base. The clear glass globe is held in place with the bezel style cast brass cage. Some chipping to bottom edge of lens; not visible unless lens is removed from light. This light has two, threaded holes in the base junction box that were originally used to supply the power. If you want to plug the holes, you can find brass threaded plugs at most plumbing or hardware stores. Completely original but we've replaced the interior light fixture with new!

We recommend the use of LED light bulbs for all enclosed light fixtures like this one. The LED, or light-emitting diode, is essentially a miniature light source incased in a plastic lens. LED lighting is ultra-compact and dramatically more efficient than traditional incandescent bulbs. And, because LED bulbs are based on solid-state lighting technology that emits light from a chip, they produce minimal heat and there is no filament to burn out, as with incandescent bulbs. Nor do they contain mercury and other toxic material.
