Highest quality vintage cast brass engine room or passageway light used on various types of naval and commercial ships throughout the 20th century. These all brass authentic light fixtures weigh a little more than three pounds and measures 9 1/2 inches tall and 3 3/4 inches wide at the bezel. They are easily mounted onto almost any flat surface using the three mounting feet or can easily be drilled through the bottom of the light fixture base. The clear glass globe is held in place with the bezel style cast brass cage. This light has a single threaded hole in the base junction box that were originally used to supply the power. If you want to plug the holes, you can find brass threaded plugs at most plumbing or hardware stores. Completely original including the interior fixture!
These vintage lights are the perfect fixture for both indoor and outdoor use. Can be used outdoors for deck lights, post lights, dock lights and porch lights. They're also perfect for indoor use anywhere that you need a great nautical fixture. These are also a favorite for restaurant use as booth lights and bar lights! Truly the finest made light fixtures designed to withstand the harsh conditions of oceangoing and other maritime vessels.

We recommend the use of LED light bulbs for all enclosed light fixtures like his one.The LED, or light-emitting diode, is essentially a miniature light source incased in a plastic lens. LEDÂs produce light when electrons inside the diode, excited by the flow of current, release energy in the form of light photons. LED lighting is ultra-compact and dramatically more efficient than traditional incandescent bulbs  up to 85% more efficient  and over 10% more efficient than compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLÂs). And, because LED bulbs are based on solid-state lighting technology that emits light from a chip, they produce minimal heat and there is no filament to burn out, as with incandescent bulbs. Nor do they contain mercury and other toxic material.
