Our new yachting burgees nautical belt is the perfect accompaniment to wear out for an evening on the town, socializing at your yacht club or just about anywhere else that you may want to wear your favorite nautical apparel! I personally love this belt worn with my favorite khaki pants, traditional dark blue blazer and white Skipjack polo shirt! This cotton web ribbon belt for all seasons has full grain drum-dyed leather billet and buckle ends accentuated by the solid brass buckle. MADE IN THE USA!

ABOUT YACHT CLUB BURGEES:

Members belonging to a yacht club or sailing organization may fly their club's unique burgee both while underway and at anchor (however, not while racing). Sailing vessels may fly the burgee from the main masthead or from a lanyard under the starboard spreader on the mast. Power boats fly the burgee off a short staff on the bow.

Traditionally, the first time a member of one club visits another, there is an exchange of burgees. Exchanged burgees are then often displayed on the premises of each, such as in a club office or bar. Anyone want to exchange belts?

In stock sizes are available from 32 to 48 in even sizes at our Olde Towne Portsmouth showroom and ready for shipment through Skipjack's webstore. Smaller sizes starting at 20 and larger sizes over 48 are also available, but expect up to two weeks for the belt to be made and shipped to you. Sizes 50 and up add $2.00 to the base cost. It is not possible to order odd numbered belts, i.e., 35, 37, etc.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR BELT SIZE

Note: Tab style belts come in even sizes and are measured from the end of the buckle prong to the middle hole on the leather tab. Our use of the term 'size' refers to the measurement of the belt taken from the middle of 5 holes and includes the amount added by the buckle to the belt's effective length.

To establish the correct size of your new tab style belt you may use any of the following methods:

  • Measure a belt that you already have. Lay out the belt and measure the distance from the hole at which you wear it to where that hole will sit on the tongue or prong of the buckle when fastened. This establishes the optimum size and will be the middle hole of your new belt. Add 2" to this number for your belt size.

  • Or, if ordering by pant size, add two inches to pant size (which refers to waist measurement) to allow for the fact that the belt goes over clothing. Most commonly, a person who thinks of himself as a size 36 for trousers will be a size 38 in our belt.
