"The Ramming and Sinking of the USS Cumberland by the CSS Virginia" by Thomas Applegate. Completely scratch-built with the sole exception of the anchor chain. On the Cumberland alone are over 100 thread blocks. These are the very small loops attaching the standing and running rigging. They are visible on the ends of all yard arms. All spars are turned down from bamboo tooth picks. The sea is made from clay mixed to get the desired color and then waves are formed and the white caps painted. The bottle was hand blown at historic Jamestown, Virginia. Measures 6 1/2" in diameter and 7 1/4" tall.
