A large, early 20th century galvanized metal distress light made by A. Ward Hendrickson, Brooklyn New York. The lantern with heavy glass 360 degrees ruby red Fresnel lens. The top and bottom are fitted with two tie-down rings, and a hinged cap at top. Open at bottom to reach the interior lantern light. An oval brass makers plate on the front of the lantern states "MARINE LIGHTING, A WARD HENDRICKSON & CO. INC., BKLYN. N.Y." The galvanized metal body retains a pleasing, old weathered patina. The lantern is missing the outer wire guards and the Fresnel lens, though all intact. is cracked on the back side- not visible from the front. Stands 31 inches tall (to the top of the shade, as shown) and 9 inches in diameter. Weighs 16 1/2 pounds!
The lamp lighting choices toggle between the interior light and the lamp light via the upper light switch. You can use either the upper room light, the interior lantern light or both as desired. All new lighting hardware.
