A premium quality WWII (or after) US Navy officer’s dress sword with original scabbard, manufactured by Gemso, Germany as etched on the blade with the star of David on the reverse. The sword measures 30 inches long and displays exceptional etching and signed USN. The sword handle is designed with embossed oak leaves, serpent and USN in the center. Shagreen and brass cord handle, with original silk tassel is attached to the sword handle. The sword scabbard is composed of black leather with gold leaf mounts. According to available information, this sword could have been produced as early as 1941. Survives in mint condition with only minor scuffing on the bottom of the scabbard.
No name is engraved on the sword, but this sword was the property of Admiral William H. Hamilton, Sr.
