A boxed boat binnacle with Danforth/White "Constellation Express" compass once used aboard a classic motorboat. The Constellation Express compass is designed to be moved from one location to the other. The unique design allows the compass to be lifted out of it's mount in the wheelhouse and placed inside another mount topside- in this case, the compass is mounted into a custom made mahogany box with brass lock-down latches and a nylon rope for carrying. The wider backboard helps keep the box from moving while underway. No adjustments is needed when moved. The corrector system is in the mount, compensated for it's specific location. A wonderful portable compass that has survived in good working order and can be used today on your yacht or as an attractive maritime accessory for your coastal home. The mahogany box measures 8 1/2" X 8 1/2" X 9 1/2" tall. Includes original instructions.
