Bronze Ship's Helm's Bell From the Ship "TIGRESS"

Authentic 19th century ship's helms bell from an old sailing ship. This heavy, solid bronze bell is engraved on the front of the bell "TIGRESS". The brass bell yolk is of 19th century form and is original to the bell and the bell retains the original iron clapper inside. As configured the bell stands 8 1/4 inches high and 11 1/2 inches wide. The bell itself measures 7" in diameter at the mouth. Excellent original condition with a lovely deep bronze patina. An exceptional shipboard bell from the age of sail. Comes with an old hand-tied bell rope and is now mounted on to a wood base measuring 11 X 21 1/2 inches.
