A handcrafted model of an armed Virginia Sloop, American Privateer shown in drydock, 1:48 scale. This plank-built model is a superb replica of the original vessel, circa 1768 and built by Fred C. Betz of New Bern, North Carolina. This is one of seven models that we have recently received from a lifetime collection of historic models constructed by Fred Betz. The Virginia Privateer model measures 31 inches in length, 23 1/4 inches tall and 8 1/2 inches deep (drydock planking).
Because of the fragility of the model, we will use Navis Pack & Ship in Chesapeake, Virginia (757)410-4643. Navis has expertise in packing and knowledge and partnerships in the transportation industry, making them a great partner with Skipjack Nautical Wares for getting anything fragile, large, awkward, or valuable to and from consumers and businesses worldwide.
