An early diminutive size Victorian burr walnut davenport/writing desk having figured walnut front panel with scroll supports. To the right-hand side of the davenport are four opening drawers and to the left are four dummy drawers. The hinged domed top opens to reveal a stationary compartment. The writing slope top has its original tooled leather writing surface which lifts to reveal an open storage compartment. Inlaid with stringing to the top and front including the scrolled supports. The davenport stands on castors. Knee-hole Height: Circa 1850. Minor restorations to a few areas of veneer and missing desk and domed top locks and keeps.
