A very salty early 20th century brass ship's porthole. This large survivor comes with an 18 inch glass with an overall diameter of 22 1/2 inches! The thick glass is completely intact and free of cracks or losses, but is salt-pitted on one side from years of use at sea. The porthole retains three of the four lock-down dogs. Also, the original hinge is missing and was replaced with a pair of brass bolts with nuts. Great old seafaring porthole and one of the largest that we have had to date. Wonderful dark bronze patina. Weighs a hefty 73 pounds!
