U.S. Shipping Board Clock  Mechanic - 8 Day Movement.
Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston CT., (circa 1920) "U.S. SHIPPING BOARD" ship's clock. Serial number F 690. This time only maritime clock features a sheet brass case, a silvered 6 inch dial with Roman numerals, original spade hands and a smaller seconds dial movement. It is fitted in a polished brass case with a hinged bezel. A Fast-Slow (F-S) adjustment lever is located directly under the numeral "XII".Words "MADE BY SETH THOMAS IN U.S.A." appear below the lower chapter ring. The hinged door ketch is missing, but the door shuts firmly and stays shut.  Appears to be keeping good time, but because this clock is from the greenwood Collection, we cannot guarantee the clock works.. Last serviced in 2011. Comes with original winding key.

HISTORY: The U.S. Shipping Board only had a brief life span operating between January, 1917, and 1933 when it was replaced by the U.S. Maritime Commission in 1936.
