"The Bluejackets Manual," 1943 (11th Edition). Navy bluecloth boards are slightly worn but in good condition. Inside is clean and without notes or underlining. Completely intact including Index, frontispiece, illustrations and color plates of flags. This edition was changed both in content and order of presentation from previous volumes. From the Foreward: "A complete revision of the [BM] .. to eliminate obsolete material and to freshen the contents to suit the needs of the Navy at war." This is the basic handbook for United States Navy personnel, first issued in 1902 to teach new recruits about naval procedures and life and offer a reference for active sailors. It has become the "bible" for Navy personnel, providing information about a wide range of navy topics. While new editions are still in print, this 11th edition, produced during wartime, greatly expands on previous editions.
