A vintage USCG navigational buoy red lense signal marker light. Features a hinged top with three bolted swivel dogs to lock the top down tight. The interior with white painted surface. Appears this light is constucted in a cast galvanized metal and/or an aluminum alloy housing. Steel bolts Fresnel lens guards and attachments. The thick glass Fresnel lens is a beautiful deep ruby red color and survives with only one small chip, and the buoy light fixture retains some of its old red painted surface. Found embossed on the base is: "BU 48 USCG 04-7". On the opposite side is two female brass cord interceptors for wiring with screw off plug caps. Four mounting feet. Approximate Measurements: 22 1/2" in height (to the top of the finial) and 11" in diameter. The glass globes each measure 6-5/8" in height.
The manufacturer of this buoy light is unknown. This marine buoy has seen years of service at sea and is completely authentic.
