A late 19th-early 20th century folk/sailor carved wood on board three masted schooner under full sail, carved out of a solid piece of New England pine. Measures 19.5" x 9.5" and the ship carving is approximate. 11.5" x6.5". Hand rubbed wax finish over the original dried, naturally aged patina. Found in a Cape Cod, Massachusetts cottage. A great example of American maritime folk art!
