An authentic late 19th or early 20th century ship builder's quarter block model of a Virginia ferry. This exceptional American builders hull is constructed in layers of pine in lifts. The hull form is constructed using 7 lifts creating the shape of the hull. This hull was displayed in the Portsmouth, Norfolk Ferry Building located at 102 High Street in Portsmouth, Virginia. The block model was displayed without a backboard and attached to a wall with a top board through 5 screw holes. Measures 33 inches long, 5 1/4" tall exclusive of the mounting board and 8 inches deep at the widest point.
