Brass All Round Beacon Light With Aspherical Lens

A rare all round brass beacon or ship's light featuring a thick clear glass aspherical lens. Brass shield slides up and is held tight with four clips to protect the lens when not in use. Hoisting handle above and a lower swing bail handle below. Adjustable vented chimney top for air flow and retains its original twist-in burner unit. The lantern was originally gas burning and electrified sometime later in its history. Remains in used but functional condition with a few apologies. One of the four support posts is missing, but this does not hinder its use and the bottom of the light was dented and straightened on one side. Height 16 1/2 inches to top of handle. 8 inch diameter. Weighs just shy of 15 pounds!
