An exceptional bronze casting of a sperm whale by Maryland artist, tom Waite. The casting is finished with an applied blue-green patina at the AR foundry and then carefully removed on highlighted surfaces for definition. This is number 1 of a series of four castings created by the artist. The casting is applied on this piece on a rectangular plaque of dark-gray slate. Signed on the back of the slate is written in black pen: 1/4, 2026, TOM WAITE and signed by the artist. There is a short wire on the backside of the plaque for wall display.

DIMENSIONS: The whale sculpture measures 11 inches in length,  2 1/2 inches in height and 7/8 inches thick at the deepest point. The slate plaque measures 5 1/2 inches in height and 18 inches in length. Weighs 4 pounds.
