A vintage copper anchor lantern, now repurposed by us into a handsome nautical table lamp. This fine quality "British-made" marine lantern was acquired many years ago from the well-known Trimingham's of Bermuda and has never been used, and is in mint condition. The lantern is inscribed "MADE IN ENGLAND and TRIMINGHAMS', BERMUDA on the back of the lantern chimney. The all-copper lantern has the "ANCHOR" brass ribbon on the front and the Fresnel lens guards and hoisting rings are made of brass as well. Clear "white light" glass Fresnel lens. Includes the original twist-type oil font with "WEDGE' adjusting oil wick.
The lamp lighting choices toggle between the interior light and the upper exterior lamp light via the lightbulb switch. You can use either the upper room light, the interior lantern light or both as desired. The interior bulb is reached through the open bottom. Measures 6 inches in diameter (not including wire guards) and stands 21 inches tall to the top of the lamp shade (as shown). Weighs 7 pounds.

Trimingham's, since 1879 was a favored destination store -both at its flagship store on Front Street on St. George's island and at its local branches throughout the island. This Bermuda institution closed it's doors for the last time in July of 2005, after 163 years of business.
