Authentic main steam pressure gauge manufactured by Crosby Steam Gauge and Valve Co. removed years ago from an American ship. The signature of the maker “CROSBY, BOSTON, U.S.A.” is located at the bottom of the face plate. The large dial is calibrated in pounds per square inch, 5 pounds subdivision from 0 to 300. The metal pressure gauge face features large, quite legible numerals and measures 9 3/4 inches in diameter, (12 inch back plate) and 2 1/4 inches thick and is mounted on to an oak and pine wall plaque. Gauge housing is painted black.
We can see by the slight discoloration on the wood plaque below the steam pressure gauge that a brass plate was once displayed. Perfect as a maritime gift for a marine engineer or to adorn your nautical room.
Crosby Steam Gauge and Valve Co. was established in Boston, USA, circa 1874.
