Depicted here in the sunlight, the mighty St. Lawrence was the only ship-of-the-line ever launched on the Great Lakes. More powerful than HMS Victory, she made only two cruises with her British squadron, never fired at an enemy, was housed over and left to rot at anchor with the end of the War of 1812 and disarmament that followed.
