A beautiful, American-made, large ship's brass porthole, repurposed into an exceptional nautical mirror. Two hinged dog bolts and a heavy brass hinge secure the glass porthole and lock down to the frame. The porthole mirror can be opened once secured to an appropriate surface. Retains a magnificent, untouched, soft verdigris patina! The mirror is adhered to the original thick porthole glass and could be removed if desired. The mirror measures 13 1/2 inches in diameter, and the overall brass frame is 19 1/4 inches in diameter. Weighs 42 pounds!
It will be hard to find one better than this!
CONDITION: This authentic ships porthole survives in excellent, undamaged condition. There is a very fine (needle thin) surface scratch, about 2 inches in length on the mirror glass.
