An authentic, hinged and  opening ship's ALUMINUM porthole with 2 dogs recycled from the shipping industry that we've re-purposed into an impressive nautical mirror. These portholes are made from aluminum and to the highest marine specifications, salvaged from British and European ships built in the 1970's. Aluminum portholes are much lighter than their brass and bronze predecessors which makes them usable as a wall hanging in any nautical/coastal interior and is a perfect companion with brushed metal fixtures. These portholes are also paintable! The overall diameter of the porthole measures 17 inches and the mirror measures 12 inches. The projection of the porthole is 3 3/4 inches to the outer rim and 6 1/4 inches to the end of the dog. The weight is approximately 8 1/2 pounds. Heavy picture wire on back for hanging.

As of most authentic ships salvage, you should expect a certain amount of weather wear, but this adds to the character and is part of owning authentic vintage and antique shipboard items. The finish of this aluminum porthole is brushed-silver in color.
