A second quarter 20th century barometer made by Taylor Instrument Company of Rochester, NY. Housed in a brass porthole style casing. These brass Rain Change Far Compensated Barometers were made for use on US Navy ships It has an engraved dial, graduated in inches of mercury."RAIN-CHANGE-FAIR and COMPENSATED, Taylor ROCHESTER N.Y. U.S.A." on face. Removable glass barometer cover. The Taylor Aneroid Barometer is 6.75" across by the back plate, by 5.25" across by the front plate, by 2.5" wide. The barometer face is 4.75" across. Aged brass patina. Three mounting holes. Good working order.
