Skipjack's antique store and art gallery is located in historic Olde Towne Portsmouth, Virginia in the USA. Portsmouth, the sister city to Portsmouth, England was founded by Colonel William Crawford in 1752, but its history dates as far back as 1620 when John Wood, a shipbuilder, applied for a land patent to establish a shipyard. In 2017, Portsmouth's celebrated it's 250th year anniversary of the Gosport Navy Yard, renamed the Norfolk Naval Shipyard at the end of the Civil War, and so named because at the time was Norfolk County. Portsmouth is also the home of America's oldest Naval hospital and the APM Cargo Terminals. Portsmouth is situated on the Elizabeth River, an estuary of the Chesapeake Bay, just across the river from the City of Norfolk and a quarter mile south of Mile Marker Zero of the Intercoastal Waterway.
