Very salty early 20th century galvanized metal and brass anchor lantern re-made into a table lamp. This large ship's light was manufactured by a small marine and auto light company, The Porter Co., MAKERS, 211 Water St., N.Y. as stated on the oval brass plate located on the upper shoulder of the light. This old lantern had already been electrified and was previously used as a hanging light fixture. Features a thick, clear glass 360 degree Fresnel lens and an open bottom to access the interior light and the lamp lighting choices toggles between the interior light and the lamp light via the upper light switch. You can use either the upper room light, the interior lantern light or both as desired. The lantern measures 19 ˝ inches tall to the top of the lantern and 9 inches in diameter. Great old worn metal patina and expected wear from a century old seafaring lantern. Weighs 13 ˝ pounds.
