A fine lifeboat binnacle made by Kelvin White.  Embossed "KELVIN WIFRED O'WHITE CO., NAUTICAL INSTRUMENTS, 90 STATE STREET, BOSTON, 38 WATER STREET, NEW YORK" as printed on the brass badge located on the front of the binnacle. All brass housing, mounted to a mahogany baseboard, spherical dry compass reads "KELVIN WHITE, BB1427, SPHERICAL COMPASS, PATENT 2987383" engraved on the outer brass ring. Sliding front doors & removable lid.
Measures 7 inches in diameter (housing) and 10 inch diameter (mahogany base). Good working order.
