Authentic, American-manufactured, antique all-brass mast lantern manufactured by PERKO, which we repurposed into a functioning nautical table lamp. The 120-degree glass Fresnel lens survives in perfect condition. Retains the original hoisting rings on both sides of the fixture. This classic PERKO navigation light retains a pleasing overall brass/bronze patina with traces of an old black painted surface. The oval manufacturer's label is affixed to the front and states: "PERKINS MARINE LAMP & HARDWARE CORP." "BROOKLYN, N.Y. U.S.A." This is an exceptional early 20th-century marine light that shows its history of actual marine use!
The lighting choices toggle between the interior light and the lamp light via the upper light switch. You can use either the upper room light, the interior lantern light or both as desired. Measures 24 inches tall to the top of the shade (as shown) and 7 inch X 7 inch diameter at base. Open at bottom to access the interior light.
Two holes in the back of the light were drilled during it's history for adding later electric wiring for lighting, and has now been patched from the inside. The fixture has been cleaned throughout and retains a hand-waxed finish. This makes a spectacular authentic maritime ship's lantern, re-purposed for todays nautical room and coastal home.
