We've repurposed this matching pair of marine navigation corner lanterns into nautical table lamps, featuring the highly desirable TRIPLEX fresnel lens. Each light retains the original oval brass makers lable, mounted on the front shoulders of each lantern, and states: TRIPLEX TRADE MARK, LENSE PATD. DEC. 20, 1910, OTHER PATS. PEND." The port light features a bright, ruby-red glass Fresnel lense, and the starboard light with an ocean blue lense. The lantern bodies are made out of galvanized metal and retain an old, encrusted, weathered black-painted surface. Both lense are in good condition, free of chips or surface cracks. Both lamps are newly wired and come with all-new bulb sockets and lamp hardware. They are open at the bottom to access the interior light socket.
The lamp lighting choices toggle between the interior light and the lamp light via the upper light switch. You can use either the upper room light, the interior lantern light or both as desired. Measures 19 1/2 inches tall to the top of the shade (as shown) and 5 inch corners at base. A wonderful pair of authentic, seaworn nautical lanterns with lots of maritime charm, re-purposed for today’s nautical home.
*Both TRIPLEX lense are embossed "PATENTED" in the center, and the blue lense is stamped with the TRIPLEX brand on the left center. The "TRIPLEX" trademark existed around 1910 for nautical lighting (lanterns) and was used by Perko of New York, and by George E. Carpenter & Company of Chicago. Stylistically, this pair of corner navigation lanterns would have been a product of Perko of Brooklyn, New York.
PRICED AS A PAIR!
The price above is for the pair of nautical table lamps only and do not include the lamp shades. Shown here with our 14 inch burlap covered lamp shade. For a smaller presence, we recommend the 12 inch shades.
