This classic marine lantern features the highly sought-after TRIPLEX lighthouse-style glass lens in red (port) and blue (starboard) colors. The front of the lamp bears the oval maker’s label stating, “LENSE PATD DEC 20 1910. TRADE TRIPLEX MARK.”  An oval brass label, located on the backside, states, "GEO. CARPENTER & CO., CHICAGO."  At the back of the hanging bulkhead sleeve, is embossed “PATENTED APRIL 1ST 1913.” This fine survivor of the sea stands 9 inches tall, exclusive of wooden base and 4 7/8 inches in diameter (at bottom). This lamp retains a pleasing pewter grey metal patina.

The brass chimney cap is missing it's top half-ring bail handle. The original snap-in burner is missing. The metal lens divider (now removed) is present and comes with the lamp.

the light was missing its original bottom fitted wick burner and oil font. we've produced a wooden, black-painted base with standard light bulb socket for the light to be displayed and used as an interior accent light. the ON/OFF switch is located on the lamp wire. This makes a beautiful, nautical light for a table top, bookcase, and desktop display.
