Nautical coffee table custom-made in the 1970s using an authentic WWII-era Liberty ship hatch cover. The top is fitted onto the base that is screwed into the bottom, but is removable for moving or storage. Thick, yellow pine three-board top with wide metal band ends. The base is fashioned using flat, wide strips of metal and hammered into the intricate scrolling shapes. Wonderful old dark walnut patina with a high-gloss resin finish. Table measures  27" X 59" X 20 1/2" tall.  Weighs approx. 120 pounds!
