Authentic Japanese Glass Fishing Floats were made between 1910 and 1980. They were used to float nets and mark traps, and many are still in use today. They are all blown glass balls, and the colors of the glass will vary. They measure approx. 4 inches in diameter. These float balls were housed in a plastic sleeve with handle at top to tie to the fishing net. The plastic sleeves were disposed of many years ago. A wonderful and colorful marine item to display on your tabletop in a vase or bowl (or giant clam shell!) for your nautical, beach, coastal cottage, home and bungalow!
