Boxed Dirigo dry-card compass, Seattle, Washington, 3rd quarter of the 20th century. The box holds a compass with a 6 1/4 inch glass viewing port, suspended on a gimbal ring, in an original oak-veneered box with a fitted lid. The box bottom has a 7 1/2 inch diameter cut-out and an added fiberglass interior bottom. The cut-out was created to fit in a designated space on the yacht.  The box measures 10 1/4 X 10 1/4 X 6 1/2 inches. Some veneer loss on the lid and one side panel of the box. Weighs 12 pounds.
