Vintage, thick-walled brass boat bell, used for decades aboard sailing yachts. Retains the original cast brass clapper, mounting arm and hardware including flathead brass screws. Pleasing, old weathered brass patina with some surface stains. Exceptional, rich sounding bell with very loud, long bell ring! The sturdy brass bulkhead/wall bracket has three screw holes for easy mounting. Comes with a 7 inch white, hand-tied W & P monkey’s fist bell lanyard.

This bell is unmarked, but by design is probably an earlier version of a high quality Weems marine bell. The new Weems & Plath 8 inch brass bell measures one inch shorter in height and weighs 4.7 pounds, compared to the 7 pounds weight of this bell! The new W & P bell retails for $659.99!

Measures: 8 1/4 inch outer diameter (at mouth) and 7 inches to the top of the bell, exclusively of arm and acorn nut. Weighs approx. 7 pounds.
