A single-draw brass telescope, circa 1790-1800. Constructed with finely woven sailor twine work wrap covering the brass main tube. Working sun shade for day and night use. Sliding dust shield for the eyepiece as well as the objective lens. 1 5/8 inch objective lens. Measures 20 3/4" closed and 36" fully open (not including sun shade). Clear, focusing lense in good working order. Maker is unknown. A few small dents in the brass draw. Retains an old, brass patina. Surface tarnish to some of the brass parts.
