Product Description

•••••

A late 19th century, 60 inch, 10 spoke, teak (or mahogany) and oak ship's wheel on display stand made by the American Engineering Co., Philadelphia PA. Retains a heavy, seaworn molded wood surface with exposed structural screws, and a large, bronze hub with a weathered, dark patina. The 10 white oak ships wheel spokes are of the classic vase and ring turnings, similar to those found on 18th century  American windsor chairs.  The AEO brass tag is mounted on to the front of the wheel.

*According to the previous owners, this ships wheel was from a large schooner, salvaged years ago here in Maine.
