Authentic, American manufactured early 20th century galvanized metal stern lantern that we've re-purposed into functional table lamp. The oval brass manufacturer makers plate is located on the front chimney states:"M.F.R.D. BY NATIONAL MARINE LAMP CO., NEW YORK." A wonderful old American-made seafaring marine stern lantern that survives with lots of nautical appeal. Thick glass Fresnel lens intensifies the distance of the light similar to a lighthouse lens. Originally a kerosene burning lantern, this old fixture had been repurposed into a nautical table lamp. Retains an old black painted dark pewter grey surface. Survives completely intact with only a few minor chips on the original Fresnel lens. The lantern opens at the bottom to access the lamp interior.

The lamp lighting choices toggle between the interior light and the lamp light via the upper light switch. You can use either the upper room light, the interior lantern light or both as desired. Measures 25 1/2 inches tall to the top of the shade (as shown) and 7 inches across the back. A great old nautical fixture with lots of maritime charm, re-purposed for today’s nautical home.

Lamp shades are sold separately. See our current selection in our related items below.
Shown here with a 16 inch burlap-covered lamp shade.
