Hand carved and painted resting Atlantic Puffin by Virginia artists Jac & Patricia Johnson. Measures 9 inches X 5 inches X 5 inches.
Maine ocean islands provide the only nesting sites for Atlantic puffins in the United States. Eastern Egg Rock in the midcoast region, Seal Island and Matinicus Rock at the mouth of Penobscot Bay, and Machias Seal Island and Petit Manan Island off the downeast coast provide habitat for more than 4,000 puffins each summer.
Tour boats (Hardy Boat Cruises-https://hardyboat.com/) depart from New Harbor, Maine to Eastern Egg Rock: New Harbor is only 5 miles from Eastern Egg Rock making it the closest, easiest and most convenient way to see these fascinating birds.
*New Harbor is just a short 5 mile drive south on scenic route 32 from Skipjack's Round Pond Gallery.
