Rare Brass Parlor Gimbal Light

An American made polished brass gimbal oil lamp. This high quality salon light is designed for use, both as a tabletop lamp and as a bulkhead mounted light! Beautifully designed with a weight supported base, below a cast yolk that holds a gimbal ring, with Greenman outer points. The gimbal ring holds a weighted, bulbous, kerosene lantern with removable burner. A wick adjustment key is located on one side. The bell-shaped hurricane glass presents an etched Federal eagle with shield with spread wings, and clutching bunch of arrows and a holly branch. Stands 13 inches tall to the top of the glass and a 4 ½ inch diameter base. Good working condition.
