Rare, surviving early to mid 19th century diminutive tin lantern. Composed of four glass sides and hinged door on one side with spring clasp. Pierced funnel-shaped chimney with smoke deflector and pinned top handle. Traces of old black-painted surface, with most of the exposed tin now aged to an oxidized gray patina. The blown glass panes appear to be the original. Measures 2 1/2" sides and stands 7 inches tall including handle. wonderful collectors item!
